Nuits-Saint-Georges falls into two parts, divided by the town after which it is named. The northern portion extends to the border of Vosne-Romanée, and the southern section lies partly in Nuits-Saint-Georges and partly in Premeaux. Les Terres Blanches (or “white land”) is named for its noteworthy soils of pale oolite limestone, mixed with sand and pebbly clay. The vineyard is located at a high elevation, with good sun exposure due to its east-facing aspect. It is known for both red and white wines, unusual for the appellation.
