The Clos de Vougeot, located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, is a historic 50.59-hectare vineyard that has remained intact within its original walls since being established by the monks of Cîteaux around 1110 AD. Surrounded by renowned vineyards like Musigny and Grands-Échezeaux, it achieved Grand Cru status on July 31, 1937, and produces some of the finest red wines in Burgundy. The vineyard’s soils vary from gravelly and limestone-rich at the upper slopes to deeper, clay-rich marl in the lower areas, reflecting the region's Jurassic origins. The château, a masterpiece of Burgundian Renaissance architecture, hosts the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and is a symbol of Burgundy’s rich wine heritage.
