The Bourgogne Côte d’Or appellation spans a narrow 65-kilometer strip from Dijon to the Maranges, encompassing the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. This historic region, named during the French Revolution, has been a center of viticulture since antiquity, with its vineyards benefiting from temperate, dry conditions and southeast-facing slopes. In 2017, producers in this area were granted the extended designation “Bourgogne Côte d’Or,” distinguishing their wines within the Régionale Bourgogne AOC. The vineyards, located between 200 and 450 meters above sea level, are situated on ancient alluvial soils, enhancing the quality and character of the wines.
