The Maranges En Goty Pinot Noir is made from Pinot Noir grapes and is closest to our style of Santenay which is ripe, fruit centric and exuberant with the tannins resolved. Maranges is further south and usually edgy with a rustic area but has an unexpected fruity wine with some savory notes.

The 2020 Château de la Crée Maranges En Goty Pinot Noir has a seamless integration of oak on the nose, along with notes of black pepper, and a meaty, balsamic quality. There are also hints of peppercorn and dandelion or white petal flowers. On the palate, the wine starts off sweet but then reveals its iron-rich nature, exhibiting roundness and fullness without being angular. It has a herbal and earthy character, reminiscent of sagebrush. The finish is marked by a slate minerality and a silky texture. This wine would pair well with tri-tip and any dishes that are grilled.

Maranges

Maranges is a wine-producing commune situated in the southernmost part of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, France. This area is well-known for its medium-bodied Pinot Noir, and we have purposefully planted and crafted a special Chardonnay in small quantities as well. The appellation of Maranges is highly regarded for its consistently good and ripe wines, reflecting the expertise and skill of our growers benefitting from the meticulous care and organic farming practices we employ.
