The hard Comblanchien limestone which disappears deep underground around Nuits-Saint-Georges resurfaces in Meursault, whereas one moves southward Pinot Noir gives way to Chardonnay. Nowhere in the Côte de Beaune does the Chardonnay grape fare so well as in this appellation.
The 2019 Maison Evenstad Meursault is very detailed and perfumed on the nose, with touches of grilled Meyer lemon, scorched poultry herbs, and red apple. The well-balanced palate delivers some interesting flavors of fresh yellow peach, white mushroom, wet crushed gravel, struck flint, and cedary herbs. With the wonderful acidity, it’s round and full on the palate, and features a lengthy fruit, and herbaceous finish. This wine pars well with fettuccine alfredo or mushroom risotto.

International Wine Report / Jeremy Young / July, 2022
"The 2019 Maison Evenstad Meursault is very detailed and perfumed on the nose, with touches of grilled Meyer lemon, scorched poultry herbs, red apple, and just a smidgeon of freshly cut hay breaking forward from the glass. The well-balanced palate delivers some interesting flavors of fresh yellow peach, white mushroom, wet crushed gravel, struck flint, and cedary herbs. With the wonderful acidity, it’s round and full on the palate, and features a lengthy fruit, and herbaceous finish. Only 244 cases produced."
