Etoile, the “sunset vineyard,” is located high atop the renowned Dundee Hills of Oregon on the west-facing slope of the Evenstad Estate. This dry-farmed, three-acre vineyard ranges from 800 to 825 feet in elevation. Planted to Dijon clones in Jory soil, this wine exhibits the most Chablis-like profile of our Chardonnays.
Like its celestial namesake, the 2019 Etoile Vineyard Chardonnay never ceases to shine. To begin, a delicate yet enticing nose of key lime, with hints of lemongrass and orange citrus offer a fragrant allure. On the palate, the laser focus and tension of the acidity mix with the savory flavors of oak spice. Fresh minerality and silky texture combine beautifully with aromatic fruit and floral character. Supple and nuanced, the wine carries through to a long, clean, and lively finish.
