The southernmost village within the Côte d’Or, Santenay’s etymology probably derives from the Latin word “Sanctus,” implying a place that was considered sacred even before the Christian era. Although recognized for its graceful Pinot Noirs, Santenay also produces intense Chardonnays of great depth and structure. The Beauregard vineyard is one of those hidden gems that reveal Santenay’s potential for magical white wines that offer a perfect equilibrium of body, elegance and mineral-rich complexity. A beautiful wine open with generous aromas, and great balance of acidity and a luxurious mouthfeel. Tasting notes include white flower blossom, lemon curd, freshly cracked white pepper, and a hint of sweet nutmeg.
The 2019 vintage has an open aroma. Tropical notes of coconut, guava, papaya and dried pineapple lend to a general palate. Tons of minerality and a lingering finish.

International Wine Report / Jeremy Young
"A touch of Indian spices, orange blossom, white nectarine, yellow apple, and fresh white mushroom aromas pop from the glass while the palate brings yummy Mandarin orange zest, yellow peach, and cinnamon powder flavors. Racy acidity, a medium-plus body, and a wonderful balance all make themselves known. Only 73 cases produced."
