Alternating between seductive darkness and vibrant highlights, the 2017 Côte Sud Pinot Noir excites the senses with expressive aromas of blooming red hyacinth and ripe red fruit. An exhilarating palate of luscious cherry pie and sundrenched blackberry, with undercurrents of forest floor and a hint of star anise, create verve and tension on the palate. Well-defined tannins, bright acidity, and a distinctive minerality provide for an exquisitely complex yet balanced offering from this iconic vineyard. As smooth as velvet, the refined elegance and symmetry drive the wine through a seamless and lingering finish.
The Côte Sud Vineyard is located on the south-facing slope of the Evenstad Estate and ranges from 510 to 790 feet in elevation. This nearly six-acre vineyard is comprised of Jory soil, and is our only single vineyard site planted both to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals.
