Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer
Liz Lease-McCaffrey
Where are you from?
I grew up overseas for most of my childhood (in Iran, Brazil, & Alaska), but spent high school in Oklahoma and then lived in NYC, CA, & now Oregon!
What were you doing before coming to Domaine Serene?
I have 20+ years of experience in the wine industry, primarily on the West Coast; I’m thrilled to be expanding to Oregon & France. Prior to the wine industry, I was a network system engineer.
What brought you into the wine industry? Why the passion for wine?
Yes, I love wine – both the product itself and the cultural and historical impact that the industry has had for thousands of years. I am and have always been honored to be a steward of that!!
What is your role at Domaine Serene and what do you enjoy most about it?
My role is the Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer and that involves business oversight of all aspects of the commercial business. My favorite part of the job is developing the team members and seeing them succeed, particularly as it relates to sales & marketing program execution!
What sets Domaine Serene apart from any other winery?
The quality standard of the wine was the primary reason for my joining Domaine Serene (as our owner, Grace Evenstad, once said “I’m a Pinot gal” and so am I! 😊). Since I’ve arrived here, have also really enjoyed the team, the culture, and the commitment to excellence across all aspects of the business.
What is your favorite food and wine pairing?
Oh, this is a good one, as I love food, wine, and the experience of those things together! I love everything from a simply beautiful cheese and wine pairing to fresh oysters and sparkling wine. My husband Paul also makes a wonderful rigatoni and sauce (Grandmother’s recipe from Northern Italy) that we recently loved with the 2015 ‘Evenstad Reserve’ Pinot Noir.
