Hours: The Jory Restaurant at the Allison Inn & Spa in Newberg is, in a word, superb! With unmatched attention to detail - from the ambiance, the world-class design and construction to the knowledgeable and well-trained staff – this place exudes “casual elegance” and you will not be disappointed. The Austin family of Newberg has spared no expense to make every aspect of the Allison outstanding. What a wonderful, and much needed addition to the Oregon wine country scene. The Jory Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday Brunch from 11:30 am until 2pm. Brunch menu appetizers may include house-made gravlax, frisée & red endive salad with duck confit or chicory salad with toasted hazelnuts. Entrees include Jory Benedicts with either house smoked Berkshire pork loin or salmon gravlax, rotisserie half Executive Chef, Nathan Lockwood, is a young, talented chef with a passion for quality in every sense as it applies to contemporary cuisine. Sommelier extraordinaire, Tom Bean, has assembled an incredible list of wines from around the world with a special emphasis on Oregon wines, expertly divided by AVA regions. At a recent dinner we enjoyed as a first course the wonderful gnocchi with lamb ragout, rabbit agnolotti, Grilled quail salad and beef Carpaccio. For main courses, I highly recommend the bacon wrapped diver scallops and the Atherton lamb trio, but all entrees are creatively prepared and presented.
